This xxxx Ford Mustang GT Convertible is available in our Louisville KY showroom. These particular series of Mustangs are known as Fox Body, due to their designation when they were in the initial design process. Without these ?Fox Body? Mustangs, the Mustang nameplate may have never made its 50th Anniversary. Here are a few fun facts about the Fox Body Mustangs. The Fox Body Mustang was much sleeker than we?ve seen in previous years, appearing much more visually European and less like the traditional Mustang of the past. It was also a whopping 200 pounds lighter than the Mustang II, which both improved mileage and reduced drag. The xxxx GT was a particular favorite, as it had the most potent small-block V8 engine in recent Ford history. ?The Boss is Back? became the tagline for the ?82 GT, and it was the fastest Mustang in years with its High Output, 302 CID V8. The convertible returned in xxxx, which marks the first time in ten years it was an option for Mustang buyers. Some cosmetic changes to the ?83 Fox include a rounded nose bearing a narrower, sloped, horizontal-bar grille. The Mustang?s popularity continued from the renewed Fox design through xxxx, particularly due to such high performance at the low cost. The xxxx GT was named to Road and Track?s ?Ten Best Cars in the World? and also made the Car & Driver?s ?Ten Best? list. Ok, enough facts for now. Let?s get back to this xxxx0 mile Black Beauty in our showroom. This particular convertible has lived a very easy life. This Pony has always been kept in a heated garage and has never been subject to the winter?s harsh elements. The exterior paint is the original black factory paint and it still in great condition. The convertible top is the original top, and looks just as nice as the day it rolled out of the factory. With the low miles on the drive train, the 5.0 engine and 5-speed manual transmission are still in great shape with many more miles left. A few goodies have been added with a K&N Cold Air Intake, Ceramic Headers and Flowmaster mufflers for that deep muscular sound. Inside this well preserved time capsule, the interior looks factory fresh. As I set in the driver?s seat, I suddenly had a flashback to my 1st 5.0, and was looking for my Bon Jovi cassette tape. Everything about this car is in good working order. The car would make a nice addition to someone?s collection or a nice weekend driver as well.
